MARÍA JOSÉ DUFFAU was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 5, 1968. She graduated as a lawyer from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in 1992. In 1993 she started working in the commercial and corporate area of Romero Zapiola & Clusellas law firm.
In 2000 she became a partner of Romero Zapiola, Clusellas & Sluga and, since then, she has provided advice on various corporate, financial, labour, contractual, real estate, consumer defense, international commercial transactions and general commercial law matters.
Maria José became the main commercial advisor to clients such as Nike Argentina, Sony Argentina, Lexmark Argentina, Lecoq Argentina, Sodimac Argentina, Rheem, Verbatim Argentina, Arla Foods, among others, providing legal advice and assistance to both the Argentine branches and their parent companies abroad with respect to the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale contracts, commercial agreements, international tenders, local permits and authorizations, joint ventures, distribution and representation contracts, franchises, supply contracts, leasing, factoring, technology transfer, consulting, management, transportation and logistics and real estate related contracts. She also represents these and other clients in related administrative and judicial proceedings.
